Monday Motivational Quotes // End March with a Bang
Happy Monday friends! Bringing you my blog series of Monday Motivational Quotes to get your week started off right! I shared the first post here, and here. I can’t believe this week is the last week of March. That said, I want to encourage you so that we can end March with a BANG! You feel me?
This weekend was pretty interesting since I met my boyfriend’s family for the first time. It was nice getting to meet everyone and it’s an adjustment with noticing the differences in our cultures and our family routines. I’m looking forward to the next time and hopefully, as time goes on they’ll get to know me better and vice versa.
I cheated on my alcohol free vow to not drink for 40 days, so I only made it to 25 days, but I’m proud of myself. That’s probably the longest I’ve gone without alcohol. After seeing how I felt the next morning, I don’t think I care for alcohol anymore.
Let’s get into Monday Motivational Quotes, shall we?
Life is about balance. Be kind, but don’t let people abuse you. Trust, but don’t be deceived. Be content, but never stop improving yourself. Life really is a balancing act, isn’t it? That’s not to say that we should balance it all perfectly. But to keep in mind that you gotta give to receive and those two things are mutually exclusive. Be kind, but don’t be a doormat! Don’t mistake someone’s kindness for weakness. Same goes with trust, just don’t trust blindly. I’m a strong believer in constantly improving yourself and not staying comfortable where there is no growth.
Society is going to judge you anyway, so do whatever you want to do. You can’t please everybody and really, why would you want to? The main person you should be concerned with pleasing is yourself. Remember when you were a kid and you had no care in the world? Why don’t we go back to that? I think as we grow up into adults, we lose that child quality where we were carefree and did what we wanted: Draw, play and have fun. Just because we’re grown up, doesn’t mean we should stop creating without a care in the world for how we’ll be perceived.
The point I’m trying to make is this: People are ALWAYS going to have something to say. You could find a cure for cancer and some people will come out and say, “why didn’t you find the cure sooner?”. You can lose weight after being slightly overweight and people will body shame you.
It happened to me when I lost weight a few years ago. People (mainly girls), were mad that I looked good and my pics showed how happy I was. They would make comments about my body saying I wasn’t good enough. I knew they were wrong because they were talking about themselves. It was like an every day thing, it was so annoying. Nowadays, I don’t post as many selfies (I guess I grew out of it), but if I were to do it today, it would start all over again.
Find your tribe. Love them hard. I’m still on a quest to finding my tribe in real life. Remember my besties application post? Still looking! Recently, I found a community online that I can’t believe I found and I’ve been interacting with them all weekend, they are the bomb dot com.
